The Sims Mobile
A life simulation mobile game based on The Sims 4 developed by Electronic Arts, Maxis and Firemonkeys Studios.
It was released in 2018 for mobile devices.

As a UI/ UX Designer on the project for just over a year, I worked on the UI for feature improvements and live service events, as well as the creation of promotional art for the in-game store.

Feature Improvements - 01. Improving town customization

As a recently released game, The Sims Mobile team saw an opportunity to grow the player base with player-requested features and improvements that were core to the Sims franchise experience.

Initial survey data indicated that they wanted to build and customise multiple house lots, so we introduced a neighbourhood into the game.

In collaboration with Natasha Hirt, my role was to concept, wireframe and prototype design solutions and then validate them by conducting user testing sessions. Once we had reached a solution, we built the final layouts and I created the required key-art and iconography.
Feature Improvements - 02. CREATING a content recycling system

The team would constantly receive requests from players to re-run old events, as the only way they could access exclusive items. We needed a solution that would allow content to be to recycled for players.

I was the sole UI/ UX Designer on the Eco Workshop feature, which introduced a new location where you can work with Knox (a character in the Sims 4: Eco Lifestyles) to craft old content items with the resources you collect.
Live service events

The game was lacking in content delivery systems that were engaging, simple to rerun and could be reskinned to suit different themes. I worked on the UI for two new content delivery events; The Sweet Treat Showdown and the Sim Festival.
Iconography
Below is a selection of icons that I created for the various features and events in the game. They were constructed on a grid and created with uniform lighting and shine to ensure consistency across The Sims Mobile brand.
In-Game Store Promotional Art
Themed content packs are added to the in-game store every update. I developed the pack art using 3D objects created by the art team for a number of updates. The process involved posing the Sims and rendering them out in-game for final editing in Photoshop. Below is a selection of key-art pieces that I created.
